Setting up Internet Explorer

There are a couple of settings in Internet Explorer that can affect how JAQ works. Local cache, and local intranet security. The local cache can cause JAQ to display old form information, images and PDF's even though a newer version of these exist on the JAQ server. The intranet security can affect the way JAQ opens links to folders and files.

To fix the problem, make the following changes.

In IE ( Internet Explorer ), click on the Internet Options button ( looks like a 8 tooth gear ), or go to "Tools, Internet Options" from the menu at the top of the page.

Or

The following window will open. Select the "General" tab, and click on the "Settings" button in the "Browsing History" section.

Make sure the option "Every time I visit the webpage" is selected, and click OK to close the window.

Back at the Internet Options window, select the "Security" tab, click "Local Intranet", and move the Security slider to "Low"..

Next we need to add the JAQ server to a trusted zone. To do this, click on the Sites button.

And then the Advanced button.

Now we need to add the servers IP address as a trusted website. You can see the servers IP address in the address bar of the browser, like this example.

The IP address is http://192.168.1.22, we dont need the /jaq/ etc bit. Or, depending on how your network is set up, you may see the servers name instead of its IP address, eg http://SERVER01/jaq/splash.asp, in which case we need the http://SERVER01 part of the address

So in the Advanced window, enter the servers address as shown in the example below, and click Add, then Close, then OK, and OK once more to close the Internet Options window.

Lastly, close and reopen the browser to apply the changes.
